You antibodies are structures made up of proteins that act to combat invading microorganisms that can cause infections, as virus It is bacteria. Therefore, the function of antibodies is to defend our body.

They are also known as immunoglobulins (Ig) and are secreted by plasma cell-like white blood cells called B lymphocytes.

The antibodies that are in the blood stream recognize the antigens that threaten to infect the body and activates the immune system to produce more antibodies against the invader.

These molecules have high specificity for the antigen they fight, so for each disease we have to produce different antibodies. This relationship is called a key/lock relationship.
