A very curious man named Charles Darwin. Darwin's curiosity came from when he was a child. And he was a kid for over 200 years. He was born in England in 1809. So it didn't kill curiosity on Google or elsewhere on the internet. I also didn't have a cell phone, didn't watch TV, listen to the radio and didn't do most of the things we are used to today. Life was very different.
Darwin really liked animals. He collected everything animal! At some point in his life, he became a beetle fanatic. He had practically every species of beetles in England. But one day, on a big ship voyage, he arrived in Brazil and discovered our forests and animals. He soon gave up on finishing the collection, because he noticed how many different beetles were out there!
That's not all he realized on this trip, which began in 1831 and lasted about five years. He visited islands and countries in South America, observed and studied various animals and nature there. Because of these studies, Darwin forever changed how science views life.
