Minimum wage and Bolsa Família

Since January 1st, the minimum wage has increased to R$1,320. In addition to the readjustment of the minimum wage, the update of the Bolsa Familia worth BRL 600, BRL 200 more than what was being offered. The novelty also refers to the name of the program, which will no longer be Auxílio Brasil, returning to the original name, Bolsa Família, in 2023.

It is worth noting that beneficiary families with children up to 6 years old will still receive an additional R$ 150.

New calculations have been added

The report presented by Senator Castro foresees a billionaire value that will be applied to national health, with R$ 173.1 billion to organize these actions. Remembering that this is a considerably higher value than the previous one, which was R$ 149.9 billion.

A greater amount will also be allocated to updating education in Brazil, increasing from R$ 119.8 billion to R$ 130.6 billion.

The revision of Bolsa Família and the minimum wage increased the country's fiscal budget to R$ 169.1 billion, causing the so-called Union spending ceiling to go from R$ 1.8 trillion to R$ 1.95 trillion. For 2023, basically, the minimum value of the proposal will be BRL 67.3 billion.

The budget also estimated that the primary deficit will be BRL 231.5 billion after adding BRL 63.7 billion to what was forecast for 2023.
