Adult stage tantrums

Tantrums are common in children because they are still learning to deal with their emotions. However, in adulthood, they still reflect this inability to channel stress and frustrations.

These emotions appear as disproportionate reactions to situations of anger or frustration, therefore, if these reactions appear frequently, it is important to find out what the causes are.

How does it happen?

There are several ways for tantrums to appear, however, we can score the most common ones. Are they:

  • Set limits - It is very important to set limits in your relationships and in your life, after all, when this does not happen, there is a time when your limit is extrapolated and the tantrum appears;
  • Know yourself – It is important to know how to recognize how things affect you and why they affect you, so that you can prepare yourself when they happen. That way, you can adopt strategies to prevent your reaction from turning into a tantrum. Also, it's important to also realize your body's reactions when it's about to collapse from emotions;
  • Take time for yourself – Leisure is essential to keep your mind healthy, after all, a relaxed mind tends to react to situations more rationally than one that is already stressed;
  • Get therapy – The best way to get to know each other and understand our triggers is to seek professional help for this, so be sure to look for one to help you through this process.
