Criminals specializing in scams via WhatsApp strike again, but this time they claim that the banking company, Nubank, is providing its users with a value of R$ 75 via Pix.
That said, it is necessary to keep your eyes open so as not to be deceived by the false “gift pix”, because in reality, “behind the scenes” is a page responsible for stealing the victims' data.
“Up to R$75 on Pix now! Nu birthday promotion join now”.
The statement serves only to lure victims to the link provided in the message.
The moment you enter the link, there is a title named “Nude Birthday!”. Soon after, an attractive message is posted:
"In celebration of our anniversary, we prepared something fantastic, and you're the one who gets the gift." The surprise? A R$75 “Gift Pix Nubank”, but only if you fill out a “very fun quiz”.
Throughout the criminal “Quiz”, the victim is asked to provide the link to five other WhatsApp groups. Soon after, the user must place his Pix in order to receive the false prize.
The real company, Nubank, commented on what happened, stating that the site is not considered safe and was not developed by the company, in addition, there is no presence of any campaign festive.
According to information released by the company regarding cybersecurity Psafe, attempts at virtual financial scams increased 100% in February, compared to the previous year. More than 1 million blocks were registered as a result of criminal actions.
