Currently, there are around 18 million families benefiting from Auxílio Brasil. In addition, approximately 5.5 million people are also receiving the national gas voucher, in the amount of R$50. However, the payment of the gas voucher is expected to be made every two months.
Bearing in mind that in February many families received the R$ 400 of the Aid and the R$ 50 of the gas voucher, in March these people will receive only the BRL 400 benefit, so the payment will be lower than in the previous month and the next installment of the other program will be paid in April.
The gas voucher was made by the federal government in 2001 to help families in socially vulnerable situations, but it ceased to exist a few years later. However, in 2021 the current government recreated the program, but now the transfer is half the value of a kitchen gas and payment is made every two months.
First of all, to be entitled to both benefits, you must be registered with the Single Registry (CadÚnico) and have your data updated on the platform for at least two years. However, programs may have a queue, so the ideal is to monitor the situation through the CadÚnico application.
Payments will start on March 18th and run until the 31st of the same month. In this sense, payments follow the order of the final NIS number (social registration number), so those with NIS ending in 1 will receive the aid on the 18th and those with ending number 0 will receive payment on the day 31.
