The admiration and curiosity of the human being about the universe provided several studies related to the subject over the years. The understanding of days and nights, the seasons in the year, the calendar and the tides was only possible through through astronomy, which provides information about celestial phenomena that dictate the rhythm of life in the planet.

For those who want to learn more about the subject, we have selected some institutions that offer free online astronomy content for those who have little free time to study and have chosen to for the teaching from a distance. Check it out below and good studies.
1 – Modern Physics: Cosmology
Through the Veduca website, you will have access to a series of courses in different areas. Another good news is that the platform releases quizzes and case studies. Professor Leonard Susskind, from Stanford University, explains Cosmology in a 15-hour course, with all videos subtitled in Portuguese.
2 – Introduction to Cosmology
This material is available for free on iTunes in English and includes videos, audios and Power Point files. They give an overview of modern cosmology, and include discussions of stars, the Milky Way, and evidence for understanding the universe as it is today.
3 – The Planets
Another option for those who want to learn in a relaxed way is the Os Planetas website. In a very unusual way, the American scientist Carl Sagan explains the Earth, Mars and the Solar System to children, in 1977, during a Christmas special, presented through videos in English.
4 – Astronomy: An Overview I It is II
This site has 50 videos in Portuguese that make up the disciplines. Conducted by Professor João Steiner, from the Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sciences at USP, the approach is focused on the main points involving the theme.
5 – Life in the Universe
The course, offered in English, was developed by Ohio State University and provides an introduction to astrobiology for non-science graduates. In addition, it debates fundamental questions, among them: how life on Earth originated, whether there is life on other planets, and what is the (long-term) future of life in the universe.
