The deadline for submitting the 2022 Income Tax declaration began on March 7th and runs until April 29th, and can be done through the Income Tax Program. Regarding the basic rules, they remain the same as last year, with the difference that, this time, the declaration deadline should not be extended.

To make it easier, this year there is also the option of a pre-filled declaration, which already comes with several data that facilitate the filling of the document.

Another change is that it is now possible to receive the refund via Pix, as long as the Pix key is the taxpayer's CPF.

Who should make the declaration?

Taxpayers who:

• Had taxable income greater than R$ 28,559.70, and in the case of rural activity, greater than R$ 142,798.50;
• Received exempt income greater than R$ 40,000.00;
• They had alienated assets subject to the levy of the tax or had until the end of the year in their possession properties whose value exceeds R$ 300,000.00.

Check the 2022 Income Tax range table:

• Tier 1: Up to BRL 1,903.98: exempt
• Range 2: From BRL 1,903.99 to BRL 2,826.65: 7.5%
• Range 3: From BRL 2,826.66 to BRL 3,751.05: 15%
• Range 4: From BRL 3,751.06 to BRL 4,664.68: 22.5%
• Range 5: Above BRL 4,664.68: 27.5%.

The tax does not consider discounts, such as, for example, INSS, and those who receive up to R$ 4,000 do not have the rates charged in full. In addition, if the taxpayer has benefited from the Emergency Aid and his taxable income has been greater than BRL 28,559.70, the benefit must be declared.
