Auxílio Brasil is the program that replaced the former Bolsa Família in providing income to vulnerable families. In this case, payment of the installments has taken place since the end of 2021, although there was still no definition of the fixed amount.
However, now the Auxílio Brasil of R$ 400 has been approved by the Senate, making this the official and fixed amount for the installments. Followed by the Senate, the president signed the MP that makes the value permanent.

The MP (Provisional Measure) that establishes the value of R$ 400 as the permanent base of the benefit reached the Senate in early May. However, the text had already left the Chamber of Deputies at the end of April with some changes. This is because the government's forecast was for the Brazil Aid to be paid by December of this year. However, opposition leaders pressed for the value to be fixed until there was a future readjustment.
Another change that the text gained concerns the discount of the Auxílio Brasil on the undue receipt of the closed-end insurance in the past. Through the action of the deputies, this discount was reduced to the limit of 30% so that there is no loss for the beneficiaries of the program.
Followed by the Senate, the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, sanctioned the provisional measure that makes the BRL 400 Brazil Aid a permanent benefit. The sanction was published today (19) in the Official Gazette of the Union.
With the fixed amount of R$ 400 for approximately 18.2 million families who receive the benefit, the Government will need to pay a little more than expected. In this case, it is estimated that R$ 41 billion per year will be necessary for the full payment of the Brazil Aid complement. With this change, the amount of the complement is close to that already foreseen for the payment, which is around R$ 47.5 billion per year. It is worth remembering that the expansion of the value of the Brazil Aid was only possible after the approval of the PEC of the Precatories.
