Flávio Dino, current Minister of Justice and Public Security, announced that he will release around R$150 million to expand school patrols across the country. The measure was taken after yet another tragedy that occurred on the morning of last Wednesday (5), in Blumenau (SC), in which a man invaded the Cantinho Bom Pastor day care center, killing four children and injuring at least others three.
According to the Santa Catarina Civil Police, the author of the attack was arrested after turning himself in at the police station in the region.

Dino announced the measure in an interview at the Planalto Palace, after meeting with the president and other ministers.
“The initial amount is BRL 150 million, from the National Fund for Public Security, [destined for] states and municipalities that have the constitutional competence to carry out this ostensible patrol. Public notices should be published next week,” said the Minister of Justice and Public Security.
In addition to this measure, the folder announced that it will intensify threat monitoring and internet planning for attacks on schools. In total, 50 federal police officers will exclusively monitor this type of crime, based on a center of the Integrated Operations Division (Diop), linked to the National Secretariat of Public Security (Senasp).
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva also acted and announced that an inter-ministerial working group will be created, under the coordination of the Ministry of Education.
Camilo Santana, current Minister of Education, said that the group will also involve the ministries of Justice and Public Security, Health, Sport, Culture, Communications, Rights Humans and General Secretariat of the Presidency.
“This decree creating this working group [is so that] we can listen to the secretaries of education, mayors, specialists, and we can build policies to prevent violence in schools, which can guarantee not only prevention, but immediate and concrete actions”, he said. Camilo.
The group will have an initial duration of 90 days and should propose various measures, including the eventual publication of decrees and bills to combat these crimes.
