The Ministry of Economy has defined the 2021 holidays and optional points. According to Ordinance No. 430, state or municipal law holidays must be observed by the direct Federal Public Administrations in the respective locations.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the anticipation, or postponement, of optional points or national holidays is not allowed. Check the list now.

Holidays and optional points 2021

  • January 1st: Universal Fraternization (national holiday);
  • February 15th: Carnival (Facultative point);
  • February 16th: Carnival (Facultative point);
  • February 17th: Ash Wednesday (optional stop until 2 pm);
  • April 2: Passion of Christ (national holiday);
  • April 21st: Tiradentes (National holiday);
  • May 1st: world labor day (National holiday);
  • June 3: Corpus Christi (Facultative point);
  • September 7th: Independence of Brazil (National holiday);
  • October 12: Nossa Senhora Aparecida (national holiday);
  • October 28: Public Servant's Day, to be celebrated on November 1 (optional point);
  • November 2: All Souls (national holiday);
  • November 15th: Proclamation of the Republic (National holiday);
  • December 24: Eve of Christmas (optional point after 2 pm);
  • December 25: Christmas (national holiday);
  • December 31: New Year's Eve (optional point after 2 pm).
