Fable is a word originating in Latin, which means history, game and narrative. And in fact, the textual genre is characterized by having a metaphorical text, written in verse or prose, where the characters are animals that have many human characteristics, such as speech, habits and thoughts.
At the end of all stories, a very important aspect is the presence of a teaching, or a moral lesson, based on the central event of the narrative.

They have oriental origins and most of them, including The Fox and the Grapes, are credited to the slave Aesop, who lived in approximately 5 BC. C., in Greece. These stories form a set of allegorical and moral texts, which through dialogue between animals convey valuable lessons.
Meet the fable The Fox and the Grapes, in which the character, even though he is hungry and found beautiful fruits, out of laziness, misses the opportunity to satisfy his hunger.
On one occasion, a fox, who had not eaten for days, and therefore was starving, was walking through an orchard when he saw a beautiful bunch of grapes.
The black grapes were very lush, and more than that, they were ripe and ready to be enjoyed. Realizing that she was alone and that the way was clear, she got ready to pick those fruits.
Even with all the limitations, she spared no effort in trying to catch them, and for that, she employed all her knowledge and skills. Even though they were out of her reach, she didn't stop trying until she had tried out all the possibilities.
After so many failed attempts, in addition to being hungry, she was now exhausted and disappointed. So, sighing, she shrugged, finally giving up.
He turned around and walked away. Desolate because of the unsuccessful attempts, the fox tried to console himself by saying:
“In fact, on closer inspection, I can see that all the grapes are rotten, not ripe like they looked when I first saw them.”
When we are not attentive to our attitudes, we lose the chance to observe and correct our weaknesses and character deviations. Furthermore, sometimes people would rather deceive themselves than accept their own limitations, missing out on precious opportunities to correct their faults.
That is, to overcome our limitations, it is necessary to perceive them and then accept them as real, so that we can correct them.
The main characteristic of fables, as already mentioned, is the presence of Moral of the story, which provokes numerous questions and reflections. Based on this principle, it is possible to work on the topic in the classroom based on different approaches.
The most common is interpretation, in which key aspects of the text can be turned into questions. In addition, it is possible to use it as an example to work with the fable genre, what are its main characteristics and how it differs from the others.
Another possibility, to develop written and oral language, is to ask students to rewrite the text and the moral of the story, however, using their own words.
