The Ministry of Education decided to open new vacancies for the Permanence Scholarship Management System (SISBP). Therefore, there will be a total of 4,000 vacancies. Opportunities are aimed at students from federal institutions of indigenous or quilombola higher education.
The decision was taken after meeting indigenous and quilombola university students with the government. In this sense, new registrations will be accepted until June 29th.

Furthermore, according to the Secretariat for Higher Education, the idea is that students who were not recipients of the permanence scholarship, have priority in the National Student Assistance Program (Pnaes).
Unlike SISBP, Pnaes is managed by federal institutions.
The Bolsa Permanência Program is the assistance offered to federal higher education students who are in a situation of social and economic vulnerability.
As well as for the indigenous and quilombola population of the institutions. Currently, the value of the scholarship is R$ 900.00, which is paid directly to the student.
Amid cost containment in recent years, the program has not opened new calls since last year. The last call was in June, when 2,500 new vacancies were offered.
Despite this, the number of indigenous, quilombola and low-income students in federal universities has been increasing in recent years.
According to data provided by the National Association of Directors of Federal Institutions of Higher Education (Andifes), 70.2% of federal students are low-income.
