This measure is related to actions taken by the president of Petrobras, whose objective is to bring some innovative strategies on the values that the company's products will be commercialized, mainly in the market internal.
That done, from May 17th of this year, the company will start selling the 13 kg gas cylinder for a lower price, where the discount will be R$8.97, on average.
The objective is for all distributors to be able to pass on this discount to final consumers, making the selling price for homes to be R$99.87.

The president of Petrobras, Jean Paul Prates, says that he is very happy to be able to lower the value of the gas cylinder from R$ 100.
This measure was taken after a meeting with Alexandre Silveira, the country's Minister of Mines and Energy, which took place in Brasília.
According to Prates, since October 2021, the value of the gas cylinder will finally be less than R$100, which is a great achievement for consumers.
With that, in addition to reducing the value of this cylinder, these new commercial measures by the company also predict that the prices of gasoline and diesel will be reduced.
The intention is for gasoline to have a discount of R$0.40 and diesel of R$0.44 for distributors.
It is important to remember that, for products to have their resale values reduced, some factors must be taken into account, after all, they directly influence this price.
Some of these factors are the distributor's resale profit margins, the blending of biofuels and also related taxes.
President Prates also stated that there are alternatives for reducing prices for customers who buy Petrobras products to resell at points of sale. It is worth remembering that, for fuels, Petrobras no longer has a distributor.
The reduction in the value of the 13kg gas cylinder will bring many benefits, especially to end consumers, who have been buying this item for more than R$100 since October 2021.
The company claims that this strategy aims to make access to this cooking gas even more accessible for consumers.
In addition, we can also point out that these readjustments will be made on a constant basis, but Petrobras has not yet disclosed the periodicity between them.
The objective is to prevent the internalization of volatilities, mainly for oil abroad and also for the exchange rate.
