This news goes beyond the classic Google white page with 10 blue links, as the results now appear in colored boxes above the normal results.
With access to information from across the internet, Google will provide easy and convenient listings with links to purchase from sites like Best Buy and various manufacturers.
With this implementation comes a huge change from Google Search results to date.
Have you ever searched for “Bluetooth speaker” on Google and come across a large row of “Sponsored” ads? This can be confusing and doesn't guarantee the best choice for you.
But now, Google is presenting results from generative artificial intelligence in the form of a blue box halfway down the front page. This box summarizes the information collected about each speaker, listing statements and opinions without credible sources.
Google does not disclose the origin of this information, preventing users from assessing its credibility. Furthermore, the links appear to lead only to manufacturers' websites, which undermines the neutrality of the results.
The ultimate goal seems to be to prevent users from clicking on external links and, consequently, ending up closing many websites.
However, this situation may change. Results generated by generative artificial intelligence are currently optional. To ensure use, simply access the Google Search application and tap on the new “lab” icon in the upper left corner of the screen.
Then click on “Search Labs” to get ChatGPT style results.
