Registration for the 2019 Brazilian Robotics Olympiad (OBR) is now open. The deadline is May 17th. Students from public and private elementary, secondary and technical schools can participate. The competition will define the Brazilian representatives in the world event, the RoboCup.
The 2020 edition of RoboCup will take place in Bordeaux, France. Free registration is done by the teacher on the event's website. There are two types of dispute: practical and theoretical. The first phase will be held on June 7th. The second on August 23.

The tests include elementary and high school content. The questions are prepared by a committee of professors. In practical mode, a challenge is required. Groups of up to four students should consider simulating a natural disaster. Thus, they will build a completely autonomous robot.
That is, without a remote control, capable of navigating rough terrain, locating victims and rescuing them. Every year the organization prepares new tracks and routes. The regional and state stages take place between June and September. On these dates, teams of level 1 and 2 will be selected for the national. The stage of the national event will be Rio Grande (RS) between the 22nd and 26th of October.
In the 2018 edition, more than 4,300 teams participated in the practice dispute. Robotics has a multidisciplinary character that benefits several areas of knowledge.
In addition, it promotes teamwork and cooperation. The idea of OBR is to invite students to approach the art of developing technology.
The event is supported by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). It also has the support of several institutions throughout Brazil, such as universities and public bodies.
