Cristiane Nunes, 42 years old, won her higher education diploma on Monday night (13) with her son, Lucas Nunes, a 22-year-old. They were classmates in the advertising course at the Anhanguera college unit in the city of Jacareí (SP).
The desire to go back to school arose when Cristiane helped Lucas choose a career. During research, she also became interested in the profession of advertising.

However, it was fate that made mother and son end up studying in the same room, “Because of the my routine, work and also caring for my youngest son, I enrolled to study morning. Lucas enrolled for the night period. As the class did not close in the morning, I ended up having to study with my son”, said the woman in a report for G1.
Cristiane recalls the day she told her son that they would study together. To her, Lucas didn't seem thrilled, but he supported his mother. Therefore, Cristiane suggested that they pretend they didn't know each other. She was afraid that the boy would be the target of jokes for being with his mother at school.
“We agreed to pretend we didn't know each other, but in less than two months he ended up forgetting and calling me mom in front of his colleagues. He was pretty funny because nobody knew. The room staff was surprised, but everyone liked the news and continued to treat us well”, said the mother.
Lucas says that, contrary to Cristiane's fears, he never felt ashamed of his mother. For him, sharing the study routine with her brought them even closer together. “We've always had a very close relationship and, with the college work, the projects, one helped the other to understand the subjects, all of this brought us even closer”, she said.
According to Cristiane, even when a teacher was absent or the class ended early, the two never let go of each other. “We went out together with the group to have lunch, go to the movies. He was always very funny and affectionate with me. In college he continued to act the same way, ”she said proudly.
In the classroom, in addition to helping each other, they had a healthy competition to see who got the best grades. “People joked that when I was doing well, I was cheating on my mother, but we were both very interested in the subjects, we were doing well in almost everything”, said Lucas.
About the double emotion of seeing his mother graduating and also graduating on the same day, Lucas says that it is one of the best emotions in life. “It is very rewarding. She is my grandmother's first daughter to graduate. It is a pride that has no size ”, he said.
