As customers increasingly move their purchases from retail stores to e-commerce, Walmart is bucking the trend. Your online store has officially closed.
Walmart Brasil decided to abandon the e-commerce of products on its official website. In a statement released this Friday (10), the network informs its customers that it will remain focused on its physical stores.

Operating more than 11,000 stores in 27 countries, Walmart has gone through changes in Brazil. In June 2018, the company sold 80% of its stake in the country, where it had 558 stores. The digital store sold the most varied items for home, automotive, among others.
The largest retailer in the world faced major problems in Brazilian lands. Walmart was forced to sell the majority stake in its Brazilian unit to Advent International. Walmart still retains a 20 percent stake in the business. The sale was part of an overhaul of its global presence.
Brazil is not the first big problem abroad for Walmart. The chain pulled back its operations in South Korea and Germany in 2006. Both markets were hypercompetitive and did not accept the business model well.
More recently, the company had to change its strategy in China. The initial investment in the Asian country failed to produce satisfactory results. Walmart is also in crisis in Britain, where it merged its business.
