Furthermore, the app also offered keyboard configuration options that would come with lots of unique emoji options. But experts have been warning about the large number of infected cell phones when downloading the application. According to reports, the number exceeds 500,000.

User complaints

Although the app is still available on the Google Play Store, you can find negative reviews from users on the page. Most complaints say that after downloading the application, some extra services were subscribed without prior permission.

As a result, what happened was that many users received charges and bills for unauthorized purchases with absurd amounts. Soon after, it began to spread that the application was installing the Joker virus, a virus specializing in data invasion. Also, a lot has been said about the need to be aware and check the security of applications before downloading them.

Joker Virus

That same year 2021, some other apps and services were infecting cell phones with the joker virus. For example, some computers and cell phones were infected when using themed programs inspired by the Netflix series Round 6.

This virus works by simulating clicks on malicious ads in order to generate revenue for the app's creators. And it doesn't stop there, as cell phones infected with this virus are also unwittingly subscribed to premium-type subscription services.

Thus, these users begin to receive criminal SMS's that contain links designed to steal data, mainly financial. Investigations point out that the virus is linked to a network of cyber criminals from a server in Russia.

Therefore, to avoid problems, always check the app and its ratings before downloading.

And share this article with friends and family who need to know this news and avoid the risks!
