The entrance exam is one of the most common selection processes to enter higher education in the desired course. It consists of alternative tests, dissertations and writing, depending on each institution. Many have a standard test applied at the end of the year with the knowledge of everything that was learned in the high school, others have phases to confirm that the candidate has skills and familiarity with the desired area.

Fuvest, as another example, separates into two eliminatory phases, the first is composed of a test day, being alternative on the disciplines studied in high school; and the second is separated into two test days in which questions must be answered in a dissertative way, an essay must be prepared and have some specific questions from the desired area.

All this is described in the candidate's handbook of each institution, so, first of all, it must be consulted so that the candidate knows the steps he must follow to register and what will be charged in the proof.

Therefore, for any test of this type, it is necessary to review all the content learned in high school in all subjects: History, Geography, Portuguese, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Foreign Language, Sociology, Philosophy, Arts, Physical Education and Information and Communication Technologies to be able to answer each of the questions about each discipline.

Preparing for the essay is also essential, as your grade is always very important, as it demonstrates your expressive abilities and mastery of the Portuguese language. Each institution usually requires a format, or even more than one format in their tests, the main ones are:

• Letter it is a clear and objective format that demands a dialogue between two interlocutors, where it is necessary to verify what is requested by the proposal in terms of formality and to whom it is addressed.
• Narrative it is the one that makes the candidate elaborate a story with characters, with the description of the place and time in which the facts occur, so that creativity is the greatest ally in this modality.
• Dissertation is the modality most demanded in the entrance exams, it is the one that the author needs to defend a point of view view according to the theme presented, building a good argument to defend this point of view. View.
