The president of the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep), Maria Inês Fini, was exonerated from her position. The new president will be Marcus Vinicius Rodrigues, a professor at the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV). Directors and secretaries of the Ministry of Education (MEC) and municipalities were also exonerated.
The government had already announced that Maria Inês would not remain in office. Her name was floated to head the Ministry of Education (MEC). But questions of the 2018 National High School Examination (Enem), which is the responsibility of the Inep, displeased President Jair Bolsonaro, who defended that the exam should demand “knowledge Useful".
