For the purpose of distributing the Fund's resources, only face-to-face registrations will be considered effective, according to the data collected in the most up-to-date School Census, considering the weightings applicable. Thus, in the publication of the DOU, only enrollments in public schools in municipal and state, urban and rural networks, part-time and full-time, are included.
Data collection from schools is declaratory in nature and is divided into two stages, within the Educacenso system. The first stage consists of completing the “Initial Enrollment” form, when information is collected about educational establishments, classes, students and school professionals in the classroom. The second stage involves filling in information about the “Student Situation”, and considers data on student movement and school performance at the end of the school year.
After collecting the 1st stage of the School Census, referring to the Initial Enrollment, the informed data are consolidated and preliminarily published in the Official Gazette. With the preliminary publication, the Educacenso system is reopened for 30 days for appropriate changes. At the end of the data rectification period, the information is validated and confirmed for publication, definitively, in the Federal Official Gazette.
Main instrument for collecting information on basic education, the School Census is coordinated by Inep and carried out in collaboration between the secretariats state and municipal education and with the participation of all public and private schools in the country, covers the different stages and modalities of basic education: regular education; special education; youth and adult education (EJA); and professional education.
