O Federal Institute of Maranhão (IFMA) Registration is open for the 2019 admission selection process. In all, there are 6,640 vacancies in the courses of medium and technical levels in the Integrated, Concurrent and Subsequent modalities. The capacity goes to 29 campuses located in 27 cities in the state.
Each course reserves 50% of its places for candidates from public schools. Of these, half are intended for students with a gross family income equal to or less than one minimum wage per person. Of each group, 77% of the vacancies are reserved for black, brown and indigenous candidates. In addition, 5% of opportunities are for candidates with disabilities.

The education required to participate in the selection depends on the modality desired by the student:
The campuses that will receive new students are those located in the cities of Alcântara, Araioses, Açailândia, Barra do Corda, Bacabal, Barreirinhas, Carolina, Buriticupu, Caxias, Codó, Grajaú, Coelho Neto, Imperatriz, São Raimundo das Mangabeiras, Pedreiras, Itapecuru-Mirim, Pinheiro, Presidente Dutra, Porto Franco, Rosário, São José de Ribamar, Santa Inês, São João dos Patos, São Luís (Historical Center, Maracanã and Monte Castelo), Timon, Viana and Zé Doca.
Applicants will undergo objective tests scheduled for December 2nd, addressing content contained in the selection notice. During four hours, they will answer 40 multiple-choice questions, 20 on Mathematics and 20 on Portuguese. The result is scheduled for January 9 on the institution's website.
Applications can be made between September 5th and October 5th. Those wishing to apply for fee exemption must do so between September 3rd.
