Another 38.3% were above in tracks 4 and 5. Most Brazilian courses in these areas, 52%, are in track 3. The data refer to 2017 and were released by the Ministry of Education and Inep at a press conference at the Institute's headquarters, in Brasília (DF). It is up to the Ministry of Education, through the Higher Education Regulation Secretariat (Seres), to use the data to regulate courses and HEIs.
In all, 10,210 courses and 2,066 HEIs had the CPC and IGC concepts disclosed, respectively. In October, Inep had already released the Enade Concept and the Difference Indicator between Expected and Observed Performance (IDD).
All four Higher Education Quality Indicators calculated by Inep are expressed in ranges, described in a discrete increasing scale of values from 1 to 5. The raw values assigned to the components used in the calculation are standardized and rescaled to be expressed in continuous values from 0 to 5.
