O Ministry of Education authorized, this week, the transfer of R$ 420.79 million to Brazilian states for the expansion and qualification of Full-time High School (EMTI).
The amount will be transferred later this year, through the National Education Development Fund (FNDE), intended for public institutions that joined the Full-Time Secondary Schools Promotion Program in 2016 and 2017.

Created in 2017, this program aims to contribute to the increase in the provision of full-time secondary education in the public network. The transfers will have as their first destination the state and district education departments.
The money should be used by participating schools in actions to maintain and develop education, such as remuneration and improvement of teachers; construction, expansion and maintenance of school facilities; conducting educational activities; acquisition of didactic material and provision of school transport.
The total authorized transfer corresponds to about 66% of the resources related to the 2016 accessions (MEC Ordinance No. 1.145/2016) and 2017 (MEC Ordinance No. 727/2018), in addition to 100% of the resources related to the Impact Assessment Ordinance (MEC Ordinance No. 1,023/2018).
Of this amount, BRL 338.244 million are part of the first installment for the 2019 fiscal year of the first adhesions, which will guarantee the beginning, in advance, of the planning of actions for the next year. The information is from the Ministry of Education.
