O Ministry of Education (MEC) disclosed that it will create a computerized system, similar to Sisu, to offer students vacant vacancies in the country's public universities. The program is being called 'Sisu Transfer’ and it should work from next year.
As the system is still being developed, its rules and the exact date it will come into effect will be released at a later date. The work is being led by a team of MEC technicians, who are consulting all public higher education institutions.

The news came after the release of the 2017 Higher Education Census. The data revealed that 2.8 million vacancies are not filled in public and private higher education institutions.
The National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep) also highlighted that only in public universities there are 164,000 vacancies, which represents a 'great waste of public money', according to the Minister of Education, Rossieli Soares.
Inep revealed that there are two main factors behind the large number of vacancies remaining: Dropouts in undergraduate courses (especially in undergraduate courses) and Sisu, which offers an easier way for students who are already enrolled in a course to study a degree that they consider most suitable for their profile.
