The National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep) organizes the Enem test with the Ministry of Education (MEC). Together, they reported that the measure will bring autonomy to the visually impaired. Participants who requested the expanded font in 2023 were invited to review the new proposal.
The candidates went to the headquarters of Inep, in Brasília, to evaluate the alteration.
A 47-year-old woman named Gonçala Marques, resident of Valparaíso de Goiás (GO), a city located on the outskirts of Brasília, was invited to test the source. She has glaucoma and this will be the fourth time that she has attended the examination. Gonçala took the test and revealed that the Enem answer card is great for accessibility.
This is an analysis that has been carried out since 2018 by Andréia Gonçalves, general coordinator of Application Development at Inep. During the evaluations, she noticed that one of the main complaints was the font of the reply card, so she requested that it be updated.
“We spoke with the applicator institutions, with the printing companies and we were able to increase the size of the card”, he said.
The National Examination for Revalidation of Medical Diplomas Issued by a Foreign Higher Education Institution (Revalida) was the first proof to insert the accessibility promoted by the new font. The coordinator Andéia Gonçalves even said that the result was positive and that the majority chose the enlarged font option.
