Why is it so hard to say “no”?

Because we have a need to please others and avoid disappointing someone, we feel bad when we have or must deny something. Of course, in addition there is also the fear of being criticized or excluded. All of this creates the false impression that being negative is something bad, but when we choose “no” in certain situations, we are saying “yes” to our wishes and dreams. If you want to learn to fearlessly deny, take the tips below!

It seems like a good alternative, since this way you don't deny or accept it, you just gain the opportunity to think about it better before releasing a definitive negative.

2. be expressive

When someone starts to tell you something you don't like, use body language to express your dissatisfaction and give a clear signal for the "no" that is coming. When you demonstrate that you are not excited about the proposal, people tend to give up on the idea.

3. don't give explanations

Do not explain the reason for your refusal. Do you know the expression “it is not” and period? You can replace it with "I can't do that right now" or "Unfortunately I can't", if the person insists on trying to convince you.

4. offer alternatives

If you don't want to do something a certain way, but you have a better plan for what you set out to do, change it. technique: rather than saying “no” right away, try suggesting an alternative that you are willing to accept. to accept.

5. Be honest and polite

When you need to deny something, avoid going around or making excuses, because the best way is to be honest and direct with the person without offending them. Make clear the reason for your refusal. If so, propose solutions.

6. Don't expect to please everyone.

The need to want to please is related to fear of the opinion of others. If you say "no" politely, but the person still gets mad, it doesn't mean you were rude. This just shows her dissatisfaction with not being your priority at that moment.
