The Continuous Provision Benefit (BPC) seeks to help two vulnerable groups in society, which are low-income elderly people and people with disabilities (PCD). However, few are able to realize that this second group is very broad with regard to the age of beneficiaries. After all, without this restriction, the BPC becomes a INSS benefit for children and adolescents, as long as these are also people with disabilities. In this case, the child may receive up to R$ 1,212 if he proves this condition.

In the case of children, parents or guardians will need to register to request assistance. Thus, the first step will be to register the family in CadÚnico (Cadastro Único), the platform that the government uses to monitor those in poverty.
Therefore, the person responsible for the house should go to the CRAS (Reference Center for Social Assistance) in your city for this step. It is worth remembering that the registration is done by delivering the documentation of all family members, as well as data related to income.
Thus, if there is a child with a physical or intellectual disability, the CRAS agent responsible for the registration can request the BPC at the same time. However, pay attention to the details of income, as the family must have a per capita income of up to 25% of the minimum wage. That is, the total that Members receive per month must be between R$303 and R$606 per person to release the benefit.
There are also other channels through which you can apply, as long as you already have the NIS number, which the family receives after registering with CadÚnico. In this case, you can access the Meu INSS application, available for iOS and Android smartphones.
It is also possible to call the INSS Service Center at number 135. Once the request is made, there will be a need to prove the disability, which will include a medical examination and delivery of exams and medical prescriptions. Finally, each child who fits into this framework can receive the amount referring to the minimum wage, which today is R$ 1,212.
