According to the matter of Time Out, the neighborhood stands out for all its cultural options, ranging from gastronomy to samba shows and live music. Thus, the neighborhood ends up being one of the active cultural centers of the capital of São Paulo, capable of dragging crowds of all corners and ages to enjoy the night.
In addition, according to the article, this highlight is due to Vila Madalena's history of being a student neighborhood. This is because, from the 1980s onwards, this neighborhood began to receive many young people from all over Brazil who went to the capital to study at the University of São Paulo.
What attracted these young people to the place was precisely the possibility, at the time, to pay a cheaper rent, in a good location. Over time, the neighborhood ended up becoming a meeting point for young people in the city, who would gather to party at night.
The Time Out list highlights the Mexican neighborhood Colônia Americana, located in the city of Guadalajara, one of the main cultural centers in the country.
