Social Security understands that some workers are unable to remain in their professions for many years, precisely because of the risk they involve. Thus, it is determined that in high-risk professions, the minimum contribution time is much lower than for the others.
To better understand how this works, it is necessary to talk about the INSS score, which is the sum of the contribution time and the minimum age. For example, workers in low-risk occupations need at least 25 years of contribution and 89 points. For those at medium risk, the score is 76, with a contribution of at least 20 years.
Finally, we have high-risk professionals, who retire up to 10 years early. In this case, they only need 66 points and 15 years of contributions to the INSS.
Although some professions provide early retirement, for many they do not compensate precisely for the dangerousness. Even so, they are relatively common jobs in Brazil and guarantee early retirement for these workers. In the following list, you can see the occupations considered moderate risk and high risk:
