The aid is aimed at students from families that are linked to the Auxílio Brasil Program. Payments will be made on a monthly basis over a period of 12 months. According to the Federal Government, currently more than 1,700 athletes benefit from the aid and, of these, 124 are school para-athletes.
The benefit is paid to school athletes between the ages of 12 and 17, whose family is registered with CadÚnico and receives the Auxílio Brasil. In families where there is more than one student athlete who meets the requirements to receive the aid, payment is allowed for each of them. To stand out in the competitions and be entitled to the benefit, it is necessary to win the disputes, being, at most, in the third position in the individual or collective modalities that are disputed. The purpose of the aid is to encourage the practice of sports activities and contribute to the intellectual and social development of young people.
Another important aspect is that this aid works as an additional stimulus to awaken sporting talents that will represent the country in future international competitions, like names like Rebeca Andrade, Daiane dos Santos, Neymar, among others, who have humble origins, but stood out in their modalities.
What is the value of the School Sports Aid?
The benefit is paid in twelve installments of R$ 100.00 (one hundred reais), paid monthly to the eligible athlete, plus a single installment paid to the family in the amount of R$ 1,000.00 (one thousand reais). Remembering that this value increases in families where there is more than one student athlete.
Which body is responsible for paying the benefit?
Payment will be made by the Ministry of Citizenship, through the National Secretariat for Citizenship Income (SENARC). The management of incentives will be under the responsibility of the Special Secretariat for Sport. As it is a benefit linked to the Auxílio Brasil, payments follow the same schedule.
