O Thousand Women Program was relaunched by the Lula Government and, recently, the Ministry of Education (MEC) held a round of training and training workshops on the Methodology of Access, Permanence and Success in the program. The action took place between the 24th and 28th of July.

Getúlio Marques, secretary of the Secretariat for Professional and Technological Education (Setec), recalled the struggles faced by Federal Network in training women in situations of social vulnerability and praised the existence of the Thousand Women Project in this sense.
The Program, which was created in 2005 in Rio Grande do Norte, trained 60 women in vulnerable situations. On March 8, 2023, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced the resumption of the program.
The idea with this MEC project is to grant education, inclusion and access to citizenship for women who live in conditions of social and economic inequality.
In addition to defending the fight against violence and promoting gender equality. To, as a purpose, be able to reintegrate women into the labor market through training and incentive programs.
The Thousand Women Program will bring courses and other professional qualification, in addition to offering professional technical courses, also covering young people and adults.
All students who enroll in the program will receive transportation and food assistance for the duration of the course. The main focus group of this initiative are women over 16 years of age, exposed to situations of physical violence, sexual, patrimonial, moral, psychological or who are in a situation of social risk, in places with little infrastructure.
The actions around the Thousand Women Project have been extended and continue to operate throughout the entire national territory.
