Am I entitled to permanent help for single mothers?

In 2020, with the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, Emergency Aid was created, which benefited many people during this period when many people were experiencing problems financial. The Emergency Aid had prerequisites to be able to access the benefit, as well as several other social programs.

In this sense, some people, such as single mothers or heads of household, were benefiting from the double amount, that is, R$ 1,200. The others received installments of R$ 600. However, with the end of the Emergency Aid, these people stopped being benefited and became helpless, facing difficulties again.

Thinking about this situation of vulnerability that some Brazilians are facing again, it was proposed the creation of the permanent help for single mothers.

More details about the benefit

The project is still pending in the Chamber of Deputies and was proposed by former deputy Assis Carvalho (PI). Given this, a series of reasons are taken into account for the project to be approved. Among them, we can mention the budget, the electoral law and the processing time.

As this is an election year, the creation of social benefits is not allowed so that candidates do not benefit from public funds to get votes.

Apparently, Caixa Econômica Federal will be the public bank that will make transfers to mothers benefiting from the aid.

What are the prerequisites for accessing permanent assistance?

• Be of legal age (at least 18 years old);
• Not having a current job with a formal contract;
• Not having a social security or assistance benefit;
• Submit a monthly family income of up to half a minimum wage or a total monthly family income of up to three minimum wages;
• Be registered in the Single Registry (CadÚnico);
• Have at least one child or dependent who is not of legal age;
• Being the head of a single family.
