LEARN TO READ WITH COMIC STORIES

Comic books have been present in our society for many decades, since a long time, young people and even adults usually follow the characters and stories they like the most. Comic books are considered great instruments for teaching reading, as they are very attractive and with the drawings, they increasingly encourage and captivate children to be interested in reading. In today's post, we'll basically teach you how you can teach your little one(s) to read with comic books in three steps. We hope you like it and that it produces results:

And who doesn't know someone who took a liking to reading through comic books? Its colors, shapes and simple reading catch the children's attention, especially the comic book series produced by Maurício de Souza, A Turma da Mônica.

Professor Glauce Rossi uses comic books as a literacy tool and shows that activities with them are simple and assertive. See, below, some of the work she does with this feature. “Working with comic books in the literacy process will be through shared reading and filling balloons,” explains Glauce.

Necessary materials:

• Comic books
• Copies of the comic books worked

First step
The teacher brings several comic books to the classroom and lets the students get in touch with them for a while. asks questions like: if they know the comic books, what are their favorites, how are the comic book stories (structure).

Second stage
In shared reading, the teacher distributes a comic book and tells students to read it together. The children participate in the reading, each one in their own way, even if they are not yet able to read. When reading the balloons, the teacher asks what the characters in the story are talking about.

After everyone speaks, the teacher reads the original comic book and the children will compare it to what they said.

Third Step
The next activity is balloon filling. The teacher distributes another comic book with the deflated balloons and the children in pairs will complete them. The teacher makes interventions in the children's writings, such as: “read what you wrote, in that word is missing letters, think together what they are. ”After everyone has done the activity, the teacher reads the original story.

Assessment

The assessment is continuous, observing the interest and participation of students in reading and writing comic books.
