Phoneme is a sound unit used to form and differentiate words.
Grapheme is the graphic interpretation of the phoneme.
example of grapheme: Ink = eiro is the grapheme because it is intended to indicate that it is an object that is compared to ink.
phoneme example: simple – 7 letters
/s/i/j/e/l/o/ = 6 phonemes
