Owls, like other birds, sing mainly to mark their territory. According to biologist Luís Fábio Silveira, a bird specialist, not all birds sing at night: “the species of the genus Glaucidium (caburés) can manifest during the day, even in the hottest hours”, details. He explains that, in general, the song of these birds is quite variable, making it difficult to find a pattern for all species: “some emit a melodious whistle, while others have guttural voices”, explains the biologist.
