BEWARE of too much vitamin C

One of the most notable adverse side effects of excessive vitamin C consumption is the chance of developing kidney stones, also known as kidney stones.

Kidney stones are solid clumps of minerals that form in the kidneys and can cause severe pain as they move through the urinary tract.

Excess vitamin C can contribute to the development of these stones, as excess ascorbic acid is converted to oxalate, a major component of kidney stones.

In addition, high doses of vitamin C can cause gastrointestinal discomfortssuch as nausea, diarrhea and abdominal cramps.

Chronic overconsumption of vitamin C can also interfere with the absorption of other essential nutrientssuch as copper, zinc and vitamin B12.

It's important to note that most people get adequate amounts of vitamin C through a balanced diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables.

Vitamin C supplements are generally not necessary for most people and should be taken in moderation and under medical guidance, so it is essential to avoid excess.
