ChatGPT had its first drop in users in the month of June 2023. The 10% drop in the number of hits is close to market predictions that this generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) system is a “declining” technology.
Launched by OpenAI in November 2022, the interactive tool was a success and popularized the use of AI.

However, in an interview with the Olhar Digital portal, the neuroscientist, futurist and professor at the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp), Álvaro Machado Dias, stated that “theChatGPT is already in decline”.
For Dias, the chatbot from OpenAI paved the way for the development of this technology, however, it represents only the beginning of the influence that generative AI can have on people's lives.
The loss of popularity of the system happens “both in terms of users and in institutional terms, given that regulators around the world are closing the siege on their practices”, explained the neuroscientist from Unifesp.
At the same time, the last few months have demonstrated that one of the factors affecting ChatGPT is that it is no longer as innovative as it was in 2022.
Forbes points out that the emergence of other similar tools, such as bard and Claude AI, made ChatGPT surpass in efficiency and data.
For example, the new chatbot Claude AI has a more up-to-date database, with events from December 2022. ChatGPT is already available with information from September 2021, as reported by the AI platform.

Despite losing space, ChatGPT demonstrated how AI can be a great resource to make everyone's life easier, whether in the personal or professional sphere.
For this reason, professor Álvaro Machado Dias believes that the “moment is extremely conducive to psychotechnologies, which is the set of devices aimed at personal growth”.
In this way, AI will continue to influence social and technological change through wellness apps and virtual assistants (chatbots).
Finally, to try to stay in the market, OpenIA has just announced ChatGPT Enterprise, an enterprise version of ChatGPT that offers more security and privacy.
