As the sun was setting, in a glorious world, a wise old rooster flew to a tree to roost. Before preparing to rest, he flapped his wings three times and sang loudly. But just as he was about to tuck his head under the wing, his beady eyes caught a flash of red and a glimpse of a long, pointed nose, and just below him was Master Fox.
– Did you hear the wonderful news? - shouted the Fox in a very happy and lively way.
– What news? asked the Rooster very calmly. But he had a strange, restless feeling inside him, for, you know, he was very afraid of the Fox.
– Your family, mine and all the other animals have agreed to forget their differences, to live in peace and friendship from now on. Think about it! I just can't wait to hug him! Come down dear friend and let us celebrate this joyous event.
– How grand! - said the Rooster - I certainly am delighted with the news. – But he spoke distractedly and standing on tiptoe, he seemed to be looking at something far away.
– What do you see? asked the Fox a little anxiously.
“Why, it seems to me that some dogs are coming this way. They must have heard the good news and…
But the Fox didn't wait to find out more. He started to run.
- Wait - shouted the Rooster - Why do you run away? Dogs are your friends now!
