This businesswoman's trajectory began to change when she found a nail adhesive abroad and realized it could be a success in the Australian market.
Excited by the idea, she tested some samples and decided to invest around US$3.2 thousand (R$15.5 thousand) to launch her own brand, Gellae, in November 2022.
When explaining how the idea of creating nail stickers came about, Serene mentioned that she loved it. do your nails in salons, but hated sitting for hours and the damage that occurred after removal.
It was then that she discovered gel nail stickers and had the idea to take them to her country. This would allow people to get their gel nails done and get long-lasting results.
The Gellae brand offers decorated stickers that adhere to nails after exposure to a UV/LED lamp for just one minute.
This revolutionary technology allows customers to do gel nails by themselves, without having to go to a beauty salon. Furthermore, the product's durability is impressive, remaining intact for up to two weeks.
After just nine months of launch, the gel sticker brand Gellae already earns around US$97,000 (approximately R$470,000) per month, according to the New York Post.
The rapid growth and success demonstrate the existing demand in the market for practical and innovative solutions like this.
Serene Lim has had previous ventures, working with pet supplies and tea kits. However, nothing compared to the success she achieved with Gellae.
For Serene, the secret is to simply start and learn along the way. She states that it is not necessary to have a business background to be successful, but rather have courage and take the first steps.
