We probably all have an image in mind when we think ofhumanoid robots high-tech, often inspired by what we see in cinematic science fiction.
Recently, China presented a humanoid robot model called H1, which is under development, and it differs considerably from this idealized image. A chinese company Technology company Unitree published a video demonstrating the H1 on YouTube.

What immediately catches your attention is that, unlike the elegant and agile representations we often see, the H1 has a somewhat peculiar gait. Its aesthetics are far from what we consider perfect or ideal in terms of robotic appearance.
According to information provided by the company, the H1 model of the humanoid robot has an impressive height of 1.80 meters and weighs approximately 47 kilos.
It is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 5.5 km/h, which is similar to the average human walk. What is notable is its ability to maintain balance even when subjected to impacts, as demonstrated in the video. Check out the video demonstration:
Unitree also showed that it is committed to improving the artificial intelligence of the H1 model. They have plans to improve the robot before putting it on sale, which is scheduled for the year 2033.
The final version of the H1 is expected to contain significant improvements, such as the addition of flexible fingers, which are in the development phase.
The H1 model of the humanoid robot is set to be sold for an approximate value of US$90,000, which is equivalent to around R$437,000. Interested parties will be able to start payments from 2026.
It is important to highlight that the development of robotic technology involves an extensive process of research, development and testing, which often results in substantial costs.
Although the H1 humanoid robot may not resemble the dramatic depictions we often see in works of science fiction, it is clear that progress in this field is promising.
These advances represent important steps towards creating humanoid robots that can perform a variety of useful functions in everyday life and in various industrial applications.
Even though there is a long way to go before this technology reaches its full potential, These early developments are promising and open up exciting possibilities for the future of robotics.
