While Apple is excited and preparing for the launch of the long-awaited line of smartphones iPhone 15, announced last Tuesday (12), a problem concerns the company involving an older model.
It was recently reported that the French National Frequency Agency (ANFR, in its French acronym) issued an order for Apple to immediately suspend iPhone 12 sales in the country.

Furthermore, ANFR is requesting the recall of all units of this model that have been sold to date in the country.
The reason behind the agency's decision is related to the possible emission of electromagnetic radiation in the iPhone 12 line and the concern about the absorption of this radiation by the human body.
According to the agency's report, during a test, it was found that the device exceeded the limits proposed for electronic products in relation to electromagnetic radiation.
Specifically, the report pointed out that the iPhone 12 had a specific absorption rate of 5.74 watts per kilogram.
Such measurement is above the limits established by the European Union (EU) for devices used in close contact with the body, such as when placed in a pocket or used in direct proximity to the skin.

It is interesting to note that, according to the ANFR report, when the iPhone 12 was tested with the device slightly away from the body, such as in a backpack, it passed the test.
This suggests that the problem with the emission of electromagnetic radiation and absorption by the human body was related to close use of the device, such as when placed in a pocket or in direct contact with the skin.
A Apple, in response to concerns raised by the French regulatory agency, reacted strongly to the ban statement.
The company disputed ANFR's test results and claims that the iPhone 12 did not comply with local electromagnetic radiation regulations.
In a note sent to the BBC, it assured that it will provide all the results of its own laboratory tests, which demonstrate that their products are in full compliance with French legislation, and electromagnetic emission, within the Limits.
Apple also highlighted that it has obtained approval from similar regulatory bodies in other parts of the world, including the World Health Organization (WHO), which found no evidence of potential harm caused by cell phones contemporaries.
