The case only came to light now, but according to Portal R7, the incident happened in June this year, when the animal left a victim in a serious state of infection.

A 40-year-old woman named Laura Barajas had a serious bacterial infection after consuming undercooked tilapia. The problem itself was not in the meat, but in the way it was prepared — a crucial step.

The stage of this situation was even more extreme, as, unfortunately, the woman had to undergo an amputation to preserve her life.
According to the victim herself, Laura prepared the fish at home and it was undercooked. After ingesting the protein, she developed a bacterial infection due to the lack of cooking.
Eating undercooked or even raw meats, such as fish and seafood, can be dangerous due to the risk of contamination by pathogenic bacteria.
Eating raw or undercooked meat can result in serious infections, such as salmonellosis and E. coli, which can cause serious symptoms, including diarrhea, vomiting, fever and, in extreme cases, even fatal complications.
Therefore, it is essential to properly cook meat to ensure food safety and avoid any health problems arising from inadequate food preparation.
