New York Zoo welcomes two baby fennec foxes

The smallest fox in the world, the species weighs less than two kilos when adult.
Ears measuring up to 15 centimeters help regulate body temperature.

Two adorable little foxes with impressively large ears are making their public debut at New York's Prospect Park Zoo.

Fennec foxes generally weigh less than two pounds as adults. Its ears, which reach 15 centimeters, help regulate its body temperature.

The Wildlife Conservation Society says the two young males were brought to Brooklyn from the Bronx Zoo.

The Smithsonian’s National Zoo website says fennec foxes are the smallest foxes in the world. They are common in the Sahara Desert and also live in the deserts of North Africa and North Sinai.
