When it comes to absolute honey production, the municipality of Arapoti, located in the interior of Paraná, takes the top spot in the ranking, with a volume practically equivalent to 1 million kilos collected in 2022, despite its population of 25 thousand inhabitants.
Honey production is intrinsically linked to the pollination of flowers by bees. These insects collect nectar from flowers, transformed into honey, while simultaneously transporting pollen from one flower to another, stimulating pollination.
This process not only results in the production of honey, but also has a positive impact on the flowering of orchards and, consequently, on an increase in the fruit harvest.
It is a symbiosis in which both bees and plants flourish together, benefiting each other.
Conceição do Canindé, in addition to leading in per capita honey production, is a true fruit oasis. The city harvested an impressive harvest of 840 tons of watermelon, also becoming one of the main hubs for this fruit in the country.
