With 30 simultaneous conferences and the presence of 2 thousand speakers, Rio Innovation Week (RIW) is a global technology and innovation event that should count on participation from more than 350 companies and research institutions, in addition to expecting an audience of more than 130 thousand people, between today (3) and Friday (6), at Píer Mauá, center of the capital fluminense.
Among the attractions, tomorrow (4), in addition to the presentation by singer Anitta, at 11am, the president of the Brazilian Society of Pulmonology and Physiology and researcher at Fiocruz, Margareth Dalcolmo, lecture, at 5pm, on the topic “How Denialism Affected Pandemic Control and what we learned from That". On Friday (6), at 1:30 pm, the South African activist, former first lady of South Africa and widow of the country's iconic leader, Nelson Mandela, Graça Machel, gives a talk, followed, at 3pm, by a lecture by the founder and first CEO of Netflix, Marc Randolph.

Also worth highlighting is the sequence of debates that will take place on the Back2Black stage, regarding various topics, such as economic development, social entrepreneurship, communities, innovation, business, entertainment and black culture, with the presence of great personalities, with a view to discussing racial issues in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the world.
Through its exclusive stand, the Federal University of Rio Janeiro (UFRJ) will offer visitors activities and workshops with varied themes, linked to education, science and technology, which aims to encourage the general public to learn about and interact with the research, advances and discoveries that the institution produces.
During its four-day duration, RIW will offer the public the possibility of getting in touch with research and projects linked to the National Museum, Science and Culture Forum, School of Fine Arts, Electronic Computing Center, National Biology Center Structural and Bioimaging and School of Communication to understand what the university thinks and hopes for the present and future of society.
