Have you ever stopped to think about when we have the hamburger among us? Well, this modern gastronomic wonder has been with us for a long time, but there are different theories about the beginning of its production in Brazil.

In 1942, during the war, the United States built the largest North American military base outside the USA in the state, popularly known as “Parnamirim Field”.
On the other hand, we have another theory on the subject. On the last World Burger Day, celebrated on May 28th, the 70th anniversary of the arrival of hamburgers in Brazil was celebrated through the chain Bob's, which was installed in Rio de Janeiro.
Paulo Gallindo, native of Natal and owner of the burger restaurant BurgerCue, located in the Pinheiros neighborhood in São Paulo, decided to address this issue regarding the arrival of the burger in Brazil.
For him, this initiative also represented an opportunity to establish his expertise on the subject by establishing himself in the capital of São Paulo.
According to the businessman, he carried out extensive online research and observed large chains announcing, in 2022, what they claimed to be the history of 70 years of the burger in Brazil.
Paulo also traveled to New York, where he spent a week researching in libraries and found an article by 1943 that reported North American soldiers conquering Brazilian women with jitterbug-style dances and burgers.
The report, published in the April 20, 1943, edition of The New York Times, describes the tactics employed by North American soldiers to win the affection of women in the Rio Grande do Sul region North.
At the time, Raphael Fernandes, who was the state governor and was visiting the United States, shared with the report that many hamburger stands appeared when the American soldiers were in Brazil.
For all this, it seems that the first theory was always correct! However, as good informants, we are always open to hearing different versions of the same story.
