8 tips to save money when buying gifts this Children’s Day

According to a systematic analysis carried out by the Procon-SP, still in September, the toy prices surprised with a variation of up to 200% in online stores, even though it was a month before October 12th, when Children's Day is celebrated.

Among the toys analyzed, the one that stood out most in the research was the game “Cai não Cai” by Estrela. On one website, the price reached R$119.99, while on another, the same item was on sale for R$35.73.

The disparity of R$84.26 draws attention to the need for extra attention when choosing where to buy, transfer, save and ensure children receive the gifts they want in date.

While in regional centers in cities in the interior and on the coast of São Paulo, a survey of physical stores revealed that a greater price variation occurred in São José do Rio Preto, specifically in the case of the Luccas Neto doll from the Youtubers line, manufactured by Rosita Novabrink.

The same toy It cost R$199.99 in one store, while in another it was available for just R$69.99.

1. Do your research before buying, as prices can vary considerably;
2. When purchasing from online stores, take into account the desired payment method, as the amount may change depending on the method;
3. See if the toy is protected for the child’s age group;
4. Consider the cost of shipping when calculating the total purchase price;
5. Check that the online store page presents clear information in Portuguese, including the characteristics, qualities, quantity, origin, composition, price and guarantee of the toy;
6. Observe the exchange policy, as when purchasing online, the consumer has the right to regret and cancel the purchase within seven days of purchase or after collecting the product;
7. When shopping online, check that the site is secure by looking for the “padlock” symbol at the left end of the address bar. Furthermore, check if the website provides the CNPJ, physical address and contact telephone number;
8. Before finalizing the transaction, make sure that the delivery address is correct, that the price and payment terms are the same as advertised and check the delivery time.
