after the eclipse last Saturday (14), which marked a notable astronomical event, the month of October holds yet another celestial spectacle for sky observers.
On the 28th, a lunar eclipse, although, unfortunately, for the Brazilian public, its visibility will be quite limited. This is a partial lunar eclipse, the fourth and last of 2023.

Areas where this cosmic event will be visible will include eastern North America, a small portion of northeastern South America, parts of Europe, Africa, Asia and some regions of Australia.
In contrast to the previous annular solar eclipse, the partial lunar eclipse will offer a relatively low-efficiency spectacle.
This means that a major change in the Moon's view may be necessary during the event. Despite the low visibility, the eclipse always provides us with incredible images to admire!
Precisely, a lunar eclipse occurs when there is an alignment between the Sun, Earth and Moon in space. At this moment, the Moon enters the Earth's shadow, which results in partial or total darkening of its surface.
In the case of this eclipse, it will be partial in nature, with a maximum of 6% of the Moon's surface covered by the so-called Earth's umbra, the darkest part of the shadow.
This situation implies that only a small fraction of our natural satellite will be completely covered in darkness during the partial lunar eclipse.
As indicated by the astronomical guide InTheSky.org, the eclipse will take place between 4:30 pm and 5:50 pm, with the viewing radius indicated below:

The event can be seen with the naked eye, and during its duration, a part of the Moon it will resemble a bite being removed from its luminous disk.
However, the ability to witness this specificity will depend on your geographic location, as it will not be visible in all areas of the globe.
